This portion of my site is used to share my religious views, and especially with my using the Bible to reference as a source for those views. I might also share some religious experiences when they relate to a given subject.
The version of the Bible that I will reference in English is the King James version. When in Spanish, I will reference the Reina Valera. Incidentally I prefer to use a bilingual bible that has English on one side and Spanish on the other, going gown verse by verse. I find that by comparing the two you can get a better idea as to what the author was originally saying, before they were translated.
When someone translates, they tell you how THEY would say it. For example, I might choose my words differently than someone else. We are both translating the same thing, but we speak and think differently, so our choice of words will be different. Translate it again, and again the words will probably be different, even if it is translated back to the original language. After enough translations you can lose or otherwise distort a lot of the meaning.
The hardest part about compiling my notes and putting them here in the web is format. What way is the best way to share the data that I have assembled? Do I write it like a sort of FAQ list? Do I just have a subject and then splatter all of the information that I have obtained on that subject? This has been a problem that I have tried to come up with a solution for quite some time. I have thought about sharing my notes many times with the world, but the question of format has always baffled me. I will attempt to do both. I am not limited in space and bandwith like I had been in the past. I have it, so I might as well use it. Besides, it might prove more useful to someone.
Another point to consider is audience. I am not trying to argue with anybody nor ridicule any religion or personal belief. I am merely stating the doctrines and gospel of Jesus Christ as I understand them to be. At times I might reference concepts professed by various religions. I do not pretend to know every doctrine of every religion, but I will attempt to clarify things as they occur to me, and I will do so by using the Bible as described above.
